Donny’s stretched Pete

Primer 'Pete

I was cruising down the Avenue one day minding my own business when I saw this beast parked out front of Red Barn Liquor. My jaw fell into my lap and I almost broke my neck. I immediately pulled over to get a better look. The owner was getting ready to leave and I caught him just in time. After chatting it up for a bit, we decided to set up a shoot in the near future. A few weeks later we met up on the PCH and made it happen. I was initially disappointed with the overcast conditions but it lent well to a soft light, as well as the grey finish of the truck itself. His name is Donny Lawson and he lives in Santa Barbara. Donny has been trucking for decades and his main source of income is his custom 379 transfer dump that he runs around Ventura County. He used to use this 359 with a spread axle reefer to pull strawberries from Santa Maria to Texas, then haul meat back to Los Angeles. It has already been chopped, stretched, lowered, and shaved. Donny still has big plans for this truck, including an engine swap, paint job, and hopefully a 48″ spread axle reefer so this rig can earn its keep once again.
