Ventura skateboarding legends you've probably never heard of. Steve Monahan (who graced the cover of the very first issue of Skateboard Magazine), John "JD" Dreary, and Lonnie Toft, who is probably best known for going above pool copings his 8 wheeler skateboard. All three of these men were on the Sims skateboard team back in the late 1970s. We got them together for an upcoming documentary of the untold story of the Ventura skateboarding scene that was taking place the same time the Dog Town Z Boys were gaining popularity. They are pictured here together for the first time since the 70s at Avenue Thrift and Vintage, where John is the manager.
